Job Description

The Kitchen Helper plays a crucial role in the overall operation of the kitchen, ensuring a clean, organized, and efficient environment for all kitchen staff to work in. As a valuable member of the kitchen team, the Kitchen Helper assists chefs and cooks by performing routine tasks necessary for the preparation and serving of meals. Responsibilities

  • Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors and surfaces.
  • Wash, dry, and store dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment promptly.
  • Organize and restock kitchen supplies and equipment to ensure readiness.
  • Remove trash and food waste from kitchen areas efficiently and responsibly.
  • Follow hygiene and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Support kitchen operations by refilling and restocking ingredients as necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as deep cleaning ovens and grills.
  • Assist in monitoring the inventory levels of kitchen supplies and ingredients.
  • Receive and store deliveries of fresh produce and other food items carefully.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service.
  • Manage clean workstations by sanitizing surfaces and equipment regularly.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting.
  • Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing and performing physical tasks.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if required.
