Your Role
As a junior Field Service Representative (FSR), you will be part of the Field Service team at Saab Ltd, based in Abu Dhabi UAE. As an FSR, you will service and maintain our Ground-based Surface Radars at our customers’ sites. The work will involve analysis and interpretation of performance data, troubleshooting, repair and replace parts in our radar systems as needed. You will work closely with our customers and Saab support teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior engineers with radar installation, commissioning, maintenance, and fault-finding activities.
- Maintaining and servicing the ground-based surface radars as an integral member of the FSR team.
- Contribute to the team support in meeting customers’ contractual agreements.
- Support site preparation, equipment installation, cabling, configuration, and system checks.
- Carry out routine inspections and preventive-maintenance activities under appropriate supervision.
- Assist with radar calibration, alignment, functional testing, and performance verification.
- Learn to use radar-specific test equipment, diagnostic tools, and service software.
- Perform basic electrical, electronic, RF, mechanical, and network checks under guidance.
- Follow approved troubleshooting procedures and assist in identifying the source of equipment faults.
- Replace approved field-replaceable components when trained and authorized to do so.
- Record measurements, observations, faults, and corrective actions accurately.
- Assist with Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning activities, and customer demonstrations.
- Support the preparation of service reports, test documentation, maintenance records, and technical reports.
- Coordinate with logistics team regarding spares, inventory management, handling of repairs and logistics flow of parts
Experience And Skills
Preferred graduated Bachelor (or similar) student with an interest in field service of military systems. An education within power electronics, software and/or computer engineering is preferred, but not essential.
You like to work in teams and solve complex problems with others. You have a personal need for variation and see it as a challenge to face new problems. You will be working in a mobile environment and may be required to work in shifts and unsociable hours.
