Job Title: The Senior Construction Supervisor (Mechanical)

KBR is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The ADNOC PMC project role would be based initially in Client or Contractors Office in Abu Dhabi.

Job Purpose

The Senior Construction Supervisor (Mechanical) is responsible for supervising and coordinating all mechanical construction activities at the assigned project area, ensuring that work is executed safely, in compliance with ADNOC Offshore requirements, project specifications, approved procedures, quality standards, and schedule commitments. The role oversees EPC contractor activities related to mechanical installation, testing, commissioning support, and construction completion.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Supervision

  • Monitor and supervise mechanical construction activities including piping, static equipment, rotating equipment, structural mechanical works, pressure vessels, tanks, and associated systems.
  • Ensure construction activities are performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project procedures, and ADNOC Offshore standards.
  • Coordinate daily activities of contractors, subcontractors, and vendors at site.
  • Review construction work packs, method statements, risk assessments, and lifting plans before execution.
  • Ensure materials, equipment, manpower, and tools are available to meet project schedules.

HSE Management

  • Promote and enforce ADNOC Offshore HSE policies and procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with PTW (Permit to Work), JSA, TRA, and safety requirements.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety walks, HSE inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Stop unsafe acts and conditions and ensure immediate corrective actions are implemented.

Quality Assurance & Control

  • Ensure all mechanical installations comply with project quality requirements.
  • Coordinate inspections with QA/QC teams and Company representatives.
  • Verify completion of inspection and test plans (ITPs), punch list items, hydrotests, leak tests, and mechanical completion activities.
  • Ensure proper documentation and records are maintained.

Interface & Coordination

  • Coordinate with Engineering, QA/QC, HSE, Planning, Commissioning, and Operations teams.
  • Resolve site-related mechanical issues and provide technical guidance to construction teams.
  • Participate in progress review meetings and provide status updates.
  • Support commissioning and start-up activities as required.

Progress Monitoring

  • Monitor construction progress against approved schedules.
  • Identify constraints and recommend corrective actions to mitigate delays.
  • Review contractor productivity and resource deployment.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly construction reports.

Construction Completion

  • Support system handover and turnover activities.
  • Verify completion dossiers and construction records.
  • Ensure mechanical punch items are closed prior to handover to commissioning and operations teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
  • Valid offshore certifications (BOSIET, H2S, HUET, etc.) preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 12-15 years of mechanical construction experience in oil & gas, offshore, or major EPC projects.
  • Minimum 5 years in a supervisory role on ADNOC, ADNOC Offshore, or major Middle East oil & gas projects.
  • Experience in brownfield and greenfield offshore developments preferred.
  • Experience managing EPC contractor construction activities.
