 Job Title: Specialist Electrical   Engineer - Offshore Project

KBR is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high‑profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi.

Job Purpose

The Specialist Electrical Engineer is responsible for providing electrical engineering expertise during FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, and commissioning phases of ADNOC Offshore projects. The role involves ensuring electrical systems are designed, executed, and commissioned in compliance with ADNOC standards, international codes, project specifications, safety requirements, and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Design

  • Perform and review electrical engineering calculations, studies, and design deliverables for offshore oil and gas facilities.
  • Develop and review:
    • Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
    • Load Lists and Load Flow Studies
    • Short Circuit Studies
    • Motor Starting Studies
    • Protection Coordination Studies
    • Power System Analysis
    • Earthing and Lightning Protection Design
    • Electrical Equipment Datasheets and Specifications
  • Design and review MV/LV power distribution systems.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC Offshore engineering standards, IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and international industry codes.

Equipment Engineering

  • Responsible for technical evaluation and specification of:
    • Transformers
    • Switchgears
    • UPS Systems
    • Diesel Generators
    • VFDs
    • Motors
    • Lighting Systems
    • Cathodic Protection Interfaces
    • Hazardous Area Electrical Equipment
  • Participate in vendor bid evaluations and technical clarifications.

Project Execution

  • Support FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, Brownfield, and Greenfield projects.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Process, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Civil, Telecommunications, and Operations.
  • Review contractor and vendor documents for compliance with project requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, Constructability, and Value Engineering workshops.

Offshore & Brownfield Activities

  • Support offshore surveys, site visits, and shutdown activities.
  • Review tie-in requirements and brownfield modifications.
  • Ensure electrical system integration with existing offshore facilities.

Construction & Commissioning Support

  • Provide technical support during construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Resolve engineering queries and technical issues arising during execution.
  • Support FAT, SAT, and inspection activities.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC HSE requirements and electrical safety standards.
  • Participate in risk assessments and technical safety reviews.
  • Ensure all electrical designs meet hazardous area classification requirements.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Masters Degree is an added advantage.

Professional Certifications (Preferred)

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng), PE, or equivalent.
  • Membership in IEEE, IET, or equivalent professional body.

Experience

  • Minimum 12–15 years of electrical engineering experience in Oil & Gas projects.
  • At least 5 years of experience in ADNOC Offshore, ADNOC Group companies, or major Middle East offshore projects.
  • Experience in FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, and commissioning phases.
  • Strong exposure to offshore platforms, wellhead towers, substations, and brownfield modifications.
