 Job Title: Senior Process Engineer – Offshore  Project

KBR is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high‑profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The ADNOC PMC project role would be based initially in Contractors Office in Abu Dhabi for some time till administrative process is completed and the candidate will be then moving outside UAE ( to an Asian Country FEED location ) for 6 – 8 months and then returning to UAE.

The project duration is until 2028 with possible extension.

Job Purpose

The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for executing and coordinating process engineering activities for ADNOC Offshore FEED projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and optimized design of offshore oil and gas facilities. The role involves developing process design deliverables, performing process simulations and engineering calculations, participating in safety studies, and supporting multidisciplinary engineering activities in compliance with ADNOC Offshore standards, international codes, project specifications, and HSE requirements.

The position requires strong technical expertise in offshore production, gas processing, water injection, utilities, flare systems, and brownfield modification projects.

Key Responsibilities

Process Engineering & Design

  • Execute process engineering activities for offshore FEED projects.
  • Develop and review:
    • Design Basis Memorandum (DBM)
    • Process Design Philosophies
    • Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
    • Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
    • Utility Flow Diagrams (UFDs)
    • Heat & Material Balance Reports
    • Process Calculations
    • Process Narratives
    • Process Data Sheets
  • Ensure all deliverables comply with project requirements and ADNOC Offshore standards.
  • Support process design optimization, safety, operability, and maintainability improvements.

Process Simulation & Engineering Calculations

  • Develop and validate process simulation models using:
    • Aspen HYSYS
    • Aspen Plus
    • UniSim Design
  • Perform and review:
    • Heat and Material Balance Calculations
    • Hydraulic Calculations
    • Pressure Drop Analysis
    • Equipment Sizing Calculations
    • Control Valve Process Data Development
    • Relief Valve Sizing
    • Flare System Calculations
    • Depressurization Studies
    • Utility Consumption Calculations
  • Support energy optimization and production enhancement studies.

Equipment Engineering

Prepare process design inputs and review specifications for:

  • Separators
  • Heat Exchangers
  • Pumps
  • Compressors
  • Gas Dehydration Units
  • Produced Water Treatment Packages
  • Water Injection Systems
  • Flare Systems
  • Chemical Injection Skids
  • Utility Systems
  • Fiscal and Custody Metering Systems

Review equipment vendor documents and resolve technical queries related to process design requirements.

Offshore Facility Engineering

Support process design activities for:

  • Wellhead Platforms
  • Offshore Production Platforms
  • Gas Compression Platforms
  • Central Processing Facilities (CPF)
  • Produced Water Treatment Facilities
  • Water Injection Facilities
  • Crude Oil Processing Facilities
  • Gas Gathering and Distribution Systems
  • Utility and Offsites Facilities

Ensure process designs satisfy operational, environmental, safety, and production objectives.

Process Safety Engineering

Participate in:

  • HAZID Studies
  • HAZOP Workshops
  • LOPA Studies
  • SIL Reviews
  • QRA Reviews
  • Process Hazard Assessments
  • Flare and Depressurization Reviews

Support implementation of inherently safer design principles and ensure compliance with ADNOC Process Safety requirements.

FEED Deliverables

  • Prepare and review FEED engineering documentation.
  • Develop process design reports and study findings.
  • Support cost estimation and equipment quantity development.
  • Participate in value engineering and design optimization workshops.
  • Ensure deliverables are completed within project schedules and quality requirements.

Brownfield & Modification Projects

  • Assess existing facility process constraints.
  • Support brownfield modifications and revamp projects.
  • Review tie-in requirements and shutdown philosophies.
  • Participate in site surveys and engineering assessments.
  • Evaluate impacts of modifications on operating facilities.

Vendor & Technical Bid Evaluation

  • Review vendor process documentation.
  • Prepare and evaluate Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE).
  • Participate in vendor clarification meetings.
  • Review package performance guarantees and process design compliance.
  • Support package integration into the overall facility design.

Multidisciplinary Coordination

Coordinate effectively with:

  • Piping Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Instrumentation & Control Engineering
  • Pipeline Engineering
  • Structural Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • HSE Engineering
  • Operations and Maintenance Teams

Interface with ADNOC Offshore, PMC consultants, licensors, equipment vendors, and EPC contractors to resolve technical issues and support project execution.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering.
  • Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering is desirable.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of Process Engineering experience in Oil & Gas projects.
  • Minimum 5 years of ADNOC Offshore project experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering projects.
  • Strong offshore experience in:
    • Oil Production Facilities
    • Gas Processing Facilities
    • Water Injection Systems
    • Produced Water Treatment Facilities
    • Utilities and Offsites Systems
  • Experience in both Greenfield and Brownfield projects.
