Job Description

The role of an IT Support Technician is integral to maintaining a well-functioning and efficient IT environment within an organization. You will be responsible for assisting users with hardware and software issues, troubleshooting technical problems, and providing user support in a timely manner. This critical position serves as the backbone for addressing IT concerns, ensuring that the company's technical infrastructure remains robust and reliable. Responsibilities

  • Maintain records of support requests, actions taken, and solutions provided in the ticketing system.
  • Assist in the setup and configuration of new computers, printers, and peripheral devices.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks on IT equipment and software to ensure performance efficiency.
  • Offer guidance and training to users on best practices for IT systems and software utilization.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to higher-level IT staff or external support vendors as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and security protocols regarding IT usage.
  • Conduct software installations and updates as needed, ensuring systems are up-to-date.
  • Monitor network performance and report irregularities to IT management for further action.
  • Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on the latest IT technology and trends.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in information technology or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an IT Support Technician or in a similar technical role.
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and network technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to efficiently troubleshoot and resolve IT issues.
  • Effective communication skills for providing clear technical guidance to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and software applications commonly used in business settings.
