Job Description

The IT Support Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of technology infrastructure within an organization. This position involves providing technical assistance and support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring a seamless operation of computer systems and networks. The ideal candidate for this role is well-versed in various IT systems and applications, possesses excellent problem-solving skills, and has a proactive approach to technology management. They should be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users and work collaboratively with other IT professionals to enhance the overall digital environment. The specialist will be responsible for documenting issues, providing training to personnel, and staying updated with the latest technological advances to implement innovative solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Provide timely technical support and guidance to end-users experiencing IT issues.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot software, hardware, and network problems effectively.
  • Install, configure, and update operating systems, applications, and hardware components.
  • Track and document customer interactions and solutions for future reference.
  • Ensure data backup procedures are followed and data recovery is successfully implemented.
  • Monitor system performance to ensure efficiency and functionality at all times.
  • Manage user access, permissions, and profiles in adherence to security policies.
  • Support the maintenance and upgrade of IT infrastructure including servers and networks.
  • Develop and provide user training on software applications and system use.
  • Assist in the procurement and evaluation of new IT equipment and software.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and implement system improvements.
  • Respond rapidly to urgent technical issues to minimize system downtime.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in an IT support or similar role.
  • Proficiency in Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems and applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for user interaction.
  • Experience with network management and security principles is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
