Job Description

An IT Support Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that an organization's computer systems and networks are running smoothly. As a vital part of the IT team, this role involves providing technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate solutions to non-technical users effectively. The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical issues, installing and configuring hardware and software, and ensuring all systems are functioning optimally to support business operations. This position demands a proactive individual who is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.


Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to support requests from end-users for technical assistance.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues effectively.
  • Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software systems.
  • Guide users through step-by-step solutions in a clear and concise manner.
  • Track, route, and redirect problems to the correct resources as needed.
  • Maintain logs of all interactions with clients and follow up to ensure resolution.
  • Research and identify solutions to software and hardware issues as required.
  • Update technical documentation and manuals for end-users as needed.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members on large-scale projects and implementations.
  • Ensure all computers and network equipment are maintained and operating efficiently.
  • Set up new users' accounts and configure workstations with necessary software.
  • Stay current with system information, changes, and updates in IT processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an IT support specialist or similar technical role.
  • Strong familiarity with Windows, macOS, and other common operating systems.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude.
  • Outstanding communication abilities and customer-oriented service skills.
  • Previous experience with network diagnostics and network management tools.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
