Job Description

An IT Support Engineer is a crucial part of any organization’s technical team, responsible for providing first-class support to end-users for various technical issues. This role demands a professional who can troubleshoot, resolve, and document customer queries in a timely manner. The IT Support Engineer will work closely with other IT departments to maintain and improve the day-to-day functioning of the company’s technical infrastructure. This position requires strong communication skills, technical expertise, and a customer-focused attitude. Whether it's hardware or software-related issues, networks problems, or user account management, the IT Support Engineer ensures smooth operations, aids in the implementation of new technologies, and provides ongoing maintenance and support to the organization’s IT systems.


Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and resolve hardware or software issues as necessary.
  • Perform system diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution for both hardware and software problems.
  • Respond to user inquiries and concerns, ensuring customer satisfaction and efficiency.
  • Install, configure, and manage software applications across the organization.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot network connections and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Document technical issues and solutions in detail for future reference and training.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and other departments to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Set up and maintain user accounts, permissions, and passwords diligently.
  • Continuously monitor IT systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Assist in the deployment of new applications, software upgrades, and system modifications.
  • Train and guide end-users on the functionalities and best practices of IT resources.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and adapt to changes swiftly as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in IT support or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Mac OS, and Linux operating systems is essential.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, especially for hardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and customer service best practices.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar are advantageous.
