Job Description

An IT Portfolio Manager is a dynamic leader responsible for managing and overseeing a company's portfolio of IT projects and programs. This role involves strategically aligning IT projects with the business objectives of the organization, ensuring that project investments are delivering value and contributing towards the achievement of strategic goals. The IT Portfolio Manager must possess a strong understanding of IT management, project management, and business strategy, as they will be required to analyze, prioritize, and execute IT initiatives that support business growth and operational efficiency. This role requires excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across various departments, ensuring alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing diverse IT portfolios, leveraging analytical skills to optimize project outcomes and resource allocation.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the IT project portfolio to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Ensure alignment of IT projects with business goals and priorities.
  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews to assess project performance and risks.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to identify and prioritize IT initiatives.
  • Assess and allocate resources efficiently across the project portfolio.
  • Monitor and report on portfolio progress, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Establish governance frameworks and best practices for portfolio management.
  • Lead project teams in the execution of critical IT programs and initiatives.
  • Implement tools and systems to enhance portfolio transparency and accountability.
  • Facilitate change management processes to support organizational agility.
  • Provide strategic insights based on portfolio analysis and industry trends.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in IT project and portfolio management.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale IT portfolios successfully.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools necessary.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Experience in change management and process improvement initiatives is essential.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards and regulatory environments preferred.
