Job Description

The Inventory Controller 18F26 is crucial in ensuring the maintenance of inventory levels, accuracy, and operational efficiency within an organization. This position is responsible for monitoring inventory metrics, implementing strategies for inventory control, and ensuring that inventory processes meet organizational standards. Having an exceptional eye for detail, the Inventory Controller plays a pivotal role in forecasting inventory needs and managing stock levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts. The position interacts closely with purchasing, warehouse, and shipping teams to streamline operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate analytical skills, a thorough understanding of inventory software, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments to support strategic initiatives and ensure the smooth operation of the supply chain.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage current inventory levels to ensure accuracy and sufficiency.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to streamline order fulfillment processes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory control procedures and policies.
  • Conduct regular audits of stock levels and adjust records to maintain accuracy.
  • Analyze inventory data to develop forecasts and identify inventory trends.
  • Resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system records efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and documents for reporting and analysis.
  • Utilize inventory management software for effective and efficient inventory tracking.
  • Foster relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
  • Prepare detailed reports on stock levels, demand, and inventory performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with various departments to align inventory levels with business needs.
  • Train and supervise staff on inventory control best practices and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an inventory controller or in a similar inventory role.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with multiple departments and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within a team setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
