The Department of Medical Education at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences seeks a qualified and motivated Instructor in Medical Education. The successful candidate will contribute to the planning, delivery, coordination, and evaluation of undergraduate medical education activities. Key responsibilities include:
Supporting classroom-based, small-group, clinical skills, simulation, and practical teaching activities.
Assisting with curriculum development, course organization, and the preparation of educational materials.
Supporting student assessments, including examinations, Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), and workplace-based assessments.
Providing academic guidance, feedback, and support to students.
Contributing to educational quality assurance, program evaluation, accreditation, and continuous improvement activities.
Supporting faculty development workshops and educational initiatives.
Participating in departmental committees, administrative duties, research, and scholarly activities.
Performing other duties assigned by the Chair of the Department
Minimum Qualification
A master’s degree in Medical Education, Health Professions Education, Public Health, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
A bachelor’s degree in medicine, nursing, allied health sciences, biomedical sciences, public health, or another relevant health-related discipline.
Demonstrated knowledge of teaching, learning, and assessment principles in medical or health professions education.
Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
Preferred Qualification
A doctoral degree, or current enrollment in a doctoral program, in Medical Education, Health Professions Education, Public Health, or a related discipline.
Previous teaching or academic experience in a medical school or health professions education setting.
Experience in curriculum development, student assessment, simulation-based education, educational technology, program evaluation, or public health education.
Evidence of research, presentations, publications, or other scholarly activity in medical education or public health.
Familiarity with accreditation and quality-assurance requirements in higher education.
Expected Skills
Relevant teaching or professional experience in medical education, health professions education, or public health.
Strong teaching, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to facilitate small-group learning and practical teaching sessions.
Ability to provide constructive feedback and support student development.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple academic responsibilities.
Proficiency in educational technologies and learning-management systems.
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
