The Instructional Designer shall support the design, development, and quality assurance of digital learning experiences for a large-scale, technology-enabled education platform serving high-school students (Grades 9–12). The role focuses on creating engaging, pedagogically sound, and scalable learning content across multiple career pathways.
Key Responsibilities
1. Instructional Design & Content Development
Design and develop digital courses, lessons, simulations, and project-based learning experiences
Translate curriculum frameworks, learning outcomes, and pathway blueprints into structured course designs
Create course outlines, storyboards, learning activities, and instructional materials
Ensure alignment with learning science principles, grade-level expectations, and learner needs
2. Assessment Design
Design and support diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments
Develop rubrics, feedback mechanisms, and evaluation criteria
Ensure assessments measure intended learning outcomes and support student progression
3. Content Review & Quality Assurance
Review, organize, and quality-assure content developed by internal teams and external vendors
Ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, accessibility, and instructional quality
Identify gaps or improvements and support content revisions based on feedback
4. LMS & Platform Implementation
Support the implementation of learning content within the Learning Management System (LMS)
Collaborate with platform, UX, and product teams to optimize content structure and learner experience
Test and validate course functionality, navigation, and learner flow
5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with curriculum leads, subject matter experts, content vendors, AI teams, and platform teams
Provide instructional guidance to ensure pedagogical consistency across courses and pathways
Participate in review meetings, planning sessions, and improvement initiatives
6. Continuous Improvement & Documentation
Support ongoing updates and enhancements based on learner data, feedback, and program needs
Maintain instructional design documentation, templates, and standards
Contribute to the continuous improvement of instructional processes and quality benchmarks
Requirements
Required Qualifications
5-8+ years of experience in instructional design or learning experience design
Strong portfolio of digital courses and/or simulations
Experience with instructional design models
Proven experience working with content vendors or agencies
Strong assessment and learning outcomes design skills
Familiarity with LMS platforms and SCORM/xAPI standards
Preferred Skills
Experience in K-12, higher education, or career readiness programs
Experience designing scenario-based or simulation learning
Familiarity with tools such as Articulate, Rise, Captivate, Genially, or H5P
Experience working in the UAE or regional education context
Comfort working in fast-paced, large-scale programs
