Inspector – Water 27D25

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of water systems and infrastructures to ensure optimal performance.
• Analyze water samples for contaminants and assess water quality standards compliance.
• Document and report any findings of system deficiencies or regulatory non-compliance.
• Collaborate with engineers to resolve issues and implement improvements in water systems.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection tools and equipment to ensure accurate readings.
• Advise management and stakeholders on water quality and safety issues promptly.
• Review and interpret blueprints, maps, and diagrams related to water systems layouts.
• Stay updated on the latest regulations and technologies in water safety and environmental protection.
• Oversee contractors' work to ensure adherence to regulations and construction specifications.
• Engage with community members to address water safety concerns and provide educational insights.
• Participate in emergency response activities related to water system failures or contamination events.
• Prepare detailed reports for audits, regulatory submissions, and internal review processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• At least three years of experience in water systems inspection or related roles.
• Thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal water safety regulations.
• Experience with water sampling techniques and analytical methods is essential.
• Proficient in using inspection tools and understanding system diagrams and schematics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
