Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Indian Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in preparing a wide variety of traditional and contemporary Indian dishes. As an Indian Chef, you will be responsible for creating menus that highlight the rich and diverse flavors of Indian cuisine while ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. You will work closely with the kitchen staff to manage culinary activities, maintain kitchen sanitation, ensure compliance with health regulations, and deliver exceptional customer service. Responsibilities

  • Develop and design menus featuring authentic Indian dishes with innovative touches.
  • Oversee the preparation and cooking of all Indian cuisine dishes.
  • Ensure all food items are prepared and served according to the restaurant standards.
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies for Indian cuisine dishes efficiently.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff in Indian cooking methods.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to maintain a streamlined food service operation.
  • Ensure kitchen operations comply with safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Create new recipes and menu items based on food trends and seasonal availability.
  • Manage portion control to minimize food waste and maximize efficiency.
  • Regularly check presentation and quality of dishes served to customers.
  • Handle customer feedback professionally to ensure a satisfied dining experience.
  • Collaborate with management for strategic promotions and special culinary events.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Indian Chef in a high-volume restaurant.
  • In-depth knowledge of traditional and modern Indian culinary techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse kitchen team.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with kitchen staff and patrons.
  • Capability to handle high-pressure environments with efficiency and calm.
  • Culinary certification or equivalent professional training in Indian cuisine.
  • Flexibility to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality control.
