Job Description

The HSE Officer plays a critical role in ensuring a safe, secure, and environmentally sound workplace. This position involves developing, implementing, and monitoring health, safety, and environmental policies in accordance with organizational and governmental standards. The successful candidate will work closely with teams and individuals across the organization to foster a strong culture of safety and compliance. They are responsible for performing regular HSE audits, conducting incident investigations, and providing HSE training to staff. The HSE Officer must be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects while maintaining a clear focus on the organization's safety goals. This role requires deep knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence positive changes in safety behaviors. The ideal candidate will have a track record of implementing successful safety programs and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to drive safety improvements.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies within the organization.
  • Conduct regular HSE audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
  • Coordinate and facilitate HSE training sessions for employees across all levels.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents to determine causes and implement preventive measures.
  • Maintain and review all HSE-related documentation and records for compliance purposes.
  • Monitor workplace conditions and practices to ensure adherence to safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with management to design and implement safety improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a point of contact for regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Provide expert advice on risk management and accident prevention strategies.
  • Update and manage emergency response plans, ensuring readiness for potential emergencies.
  • Foster a culture of safety through regular communication and engagement with staff.
  • Analyze safety data and trends to inform policy updates and strategic planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, safety management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in an HSE role within a similar industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of local and international HSE laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in conducting risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and influence others.
  • Certification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively.
