Job Description

The HSE Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all health, safety, and environmental aspects across rail projects. This role ensures full compliance with regulatory and client requirements while promoting a strong safety culture across all project phases. The position requires proven experience in rail infrastructure projects and the ability to manage HSE risks in complex, high-risk environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and management systems in line with regulatory and rail industry standards.
• Lead all HSE activities across rail project sites, ensuring safe execution of works.
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and implement mitigation measures specific to rail operations.
• Ensure compliance with client, regulatory, and company HSE requirements.
• Perform regular site inspections, audits, and incident investigations, ensuring timely closure of corrective actions.
• Deliver HSE inductions, training, and awareness programs to staff and subcontractors.
• Monitor and report HSE performance, including KPIs, incidents, and improvement initiatives.
• Act as the primary point of contact for HSE matters with clients, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement and promote a proactive safety culture across all rail project activities.

Key Requirements

• Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in HSE within similar projects.
• Mandatory: Proven experience in rail/infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, rail safety standards, and best practices.
• Demonstrated experience managing HSE on complex, high-risk projects.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are preferred.
