Job Description
The Healthcare Billing Executive (IP) is responsible for accurately processing inpatient medical bills and claims. They will ensure adherence to coding and billing guidelines while maintaining a high level of data accuracy. This role requires knowledge of medical billing processes, coding systems, and insurance regulations.
Responsibilities
- Review medical records to accurately code diagnosis and procedures.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations.
- Calculate charges for inpatient services based on standard billing rates.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and government agencies.
- Resolve claim rejections or denials by investigating and rectifying errors.
- Follow up with insurance companies regarding outstanding claims.
- Coordinate with internal departments to resolve billing queries and issues.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient-related information.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in healthcare billing or coding.
- Knowledge of medical coding systems, such as ICD-10 and CPT.
- Familiarity with insurance billing regulations and guidelines.
- Proficient in using billing software and electronic health record systems.
- Attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
