Job Purpose

To carry out day-to-day hatchery operations including egg setting, monitoring, hatching, chick handling, and sanitation. Ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, cleanliness, and precision. Your calm, careful hands will help bring new life into the world, ethically, safely, and proudly.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in all stages of hatchery operations including egg setting, transfer, candling, hatching, and chick take-off.
• Handle eggs and chicks gently to prevent damage, stress, or contamination.
• Monitor and record temperature, humidity, CO₂, and equipment readings with full accuracy.
• Conduct visual checks for fertility, breakage, and contamination; report abnormalities immediately.
• Support chick counting, grading, and vaccination procedures.
• Maintain clean incubators, hatchers, trays, and all work areas throughout the shift.
• Dispose of hatch waste according to approved biosecurity procedures.
• Follow strict shower-in/shower-out and PPE protocols.
• Assist with egg and chick traceability records for each batch.
• Report any deviation in hatching or welfare to the Hatchery Supervisor immediately.

• Hatch Handling Accuracy - 100% correct handling and chick count per batch
• Hygiene & Sanitation Score - ≥ 95% internal audit score
• Welfare Compliance - Zero welfare violations or chick injuries
• Biosecurity Compliance - 100% shower-in/shower-out and PPE adherence
• Data Entry Accuracy - 100% correct records and logbooks
• Attendance - ≥ 98% shift attendance
