Job Description

The General Maintenance Supervisor is a vital role within our facilities management team. This position requires a proactive leader who can oversee maintenance operations across multiple sites. The General Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling the day-to-day activities of the maintenance department to ensure efficient and effective services. They will play an essential role in managing a team of skilled technicians and coordinating their activities to maintain equipment, buildings, and grounds. The ideal candidate for this role will possess excellent problem-solving skills, a keen attention to detail, and strong leadership capabilities to foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and high performance.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate daily maintenance operations and activities across multiple facilities.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Manage a team of skilled maintenance technicians, providing guidance and support.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure maintenance standards are met and safety procedures are followed.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure maintenance needs are effectively addressed.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for maintenance and repairs, optimizing cost efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation for reporting and compliance purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a culture of safety at all times.
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Train and develop maintenance staff to ensure high skill levels and job performance.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly to mitigate disruptions in operations.
  • Work with external vendors and contractors to negotiate service agreements and contracts.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a General Maintenance Supervisor or in a similar leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures, equipment, systems, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with a focus on development.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective maintenance plans and strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting issues.
  • Proficient in using maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff, management, and vendors.
