The role of a General Accountant is crucial in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of a company's financial records. An accountant is tasked with tasks ranging from preparing financial statements to conducting audits and maintaining accounts. Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Conduct regular audits of financial operations, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Analyze financial data and prepare reports to track financial performance.
  • Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure the accuracy of all financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with auditors for periodic audits to enhance financial transparency.
  • Prepare tax returns and handle queries related to tax compliance and filing.
  • Develop financial policies and procedures to increase financial accuracy and efficiency.
  • Liaise with company stakeholders to present and explain financial reports and findings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in accounting or financial role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
  • Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for financial reporting.
