Job Description

The Fleet Coordinator is a pivotal role within any organization that relies on vehicular operations as part of its core activities. This position requires adept management skills as the coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all vehicles within the fleet are maintained, utilized efficiently, and compliant with regulations. The Fleet Coordinator will work closely with the logistics and operations teams to optimize the function and performance of the organization's fleet, maximizing its productivity while minimizing costs and downtimes. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the dispatching, routing, and tracking of the company’s fleet vehicles.
  • Schedule regular vehicle maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of vehicle registrations, inspections, and maintenance logs.
  • Collaborate with the logistics team to optimize fleet utilization and reduce operational costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
  • Provide training and support to drivers on safety protocols and regulations.
  • Analyze fleet data and prepare reports on vehicle performance and efficiency.
  • Manage the procurement of new vehicles and the disposal of old or outdated units.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Develop and implement fleet policies and procedures to enhance daily operations.
  • Investigate and resolve any issues or complaints regarding fleet activities.
  • Provide financial management by tracking expenses and optimizing cost savings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in fleet management or a similar operational role required.
  • Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite needed.
  • Strong understanding of transportation laws, regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a demanding environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills to interpret and act on fleet data insights and reports.
