Job Description

A Financial Controller is a pivotal figure in the finance department, overseeing all financial operations and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting. The incumbent will manage the accounting department, enhance financial performance, and implement essential finance procedures. With a strategic mindset, the Financial Controller is expected to provide insightful analyses to drive financial performance and business decision-making. The role requires a thorough understanding of accounting principles, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills. As the financial linchpin of the organization, the Financial Controller will also work closely with other department heads to help streamline operations and advance overall profitability.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial operations within the organization to maintain fiscal responsibility.
  • Develop and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls for compliance.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with regulations.
  • Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to senior management for decision-making.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes to achieve financial objectives.
  • Manage and mentor the accounting team to ensure high-performance levels.
  • Coordinate and lead annual audit processes and liaise with external auditors.
  • Implement financial software and systems to enhance efficiency of financial records management.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations.
  • Evaluate and manage financial risks for the company's long-term stability.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and tax regulations to minimize business risk.
  • Collaborate with department heads to support financial planning and analysis initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Professional qualifications such as CPA, CMA, or CA are strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in financial management or controlling.
  • Proficient in financial software, accounting systems, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities are essential.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to lead and manage teams.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-department collaboration.
