Job Description

The Financial Controller is a vital position that ensures the financial health and stability of an organization. This role requires a strategic thinker who can manage accounting operations, produce accurate financial reports, and implement financial processes that enhance company performance. The Financial Controller serves as a key player in financial decision-making and provides leadership in finance-related areas. Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the financial accounting functions, including month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and forecasts to guide management decisions.
  • Develop and implement efficient financial controls and procedures for the organization.
  • Coordinate and direct the budgeting, procurement, and financial planning processes.
  • Monitor compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations to minimize risk.
  • Manage the accuracy and integrity of all financial data and systems.
  • Liaise with external auditors and manage the preparation for annual audits.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to enhance financial performance and opportunities.
  • Support leadership in financial analysis and optimal allocation of resources.
  • Lead and mentor finance staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Analyze and monitor financial strategies for new business ventures and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management or accounting roles.
  • Proven experience in managing financial systems and implementing best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in financial software applications and MS Office, particularly Excel.
