Job Purpose
The Field Service Engineer (SSE Engineer II) provides engineering-driven planning, execution, and technical coordination of field service operations, acting as the interface between engineering, field execution, assets, and customers.
The role exists to ensure technically sound, safe, and efficient service delivery by combining:
- Engineering judgement
- Operational field experience
- Project coordination and customer-facing execution
The position supports onshore and offshore service activities, ensuring compliance with TechnipFMC standards, project requirements, HSE, cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
Job Description
- Engineering & Technical Execution
- Provide engineering-level technical support to field service operations in line with SSE Engineer II standards
- Interpret drawings, specifications, DBIs, ICPs, and procedures
- Support technically complex service activities and troubleshooting
- Contribute to design basis, technical reports, and service documentation
- Ensure engineering solutions are compliant with TechnipFMC, client, and industry standards
Service Planning & Project Coordination
- Plan and coordinate field services activities under supervision of a Service Project Manager
- Develop staffing, equipment, and asset readiness plans
- Coordinate mobilization / demobilization of equipment and personnel
- Maintain service schedules, CWOs, job documentation, and billing inputs
- Maintain accurate reporting on costs, invoicing, and service execution status
Field Operations Support
- Act as primary focal point between FSTs, engineering, and project teams
- Provide daily operational support during offshore/onshore jobs
- Participate in pre-job meetings, risk reviews, and post-job debriefs
- Support reduction of NPT through engineering judgment and operational discipline
- Support service call-outs and urgent operational needs
Quality, HSE & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with TechnipFMC HSE, QHSES, and Duty of Care requirements
- Participate in EFNCRs, customer NC close-outs, audits, and site visits
- Ensure procedures are correctly issued, followed, and signed-off
- Support continuous improvement of service procedures and execution practices
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as technical and operational interface with customers during execution
- Support customer visits, operational reviews, and technical discussions
- Support upselling, aftermarket opportunities, and contract scope discussions in coordination with Sales and PMs
You Are Meant For This Job If
- REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/FORMAL EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- In-depth understanding of oilfield operations, frac and unconventional equipment, and project management methodologies.
- REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 2–4+ years relevant engineering or field service experience (aligned to SSE Engineer II)
- Strong hands-on exposure to wellhead, subsea, or surface service operations
- Experience working in complex, high-pressure operational environments
- TechnipFMC systems knowledge (SAP, iComplete, BPMS) is a strong advantage
- REQUIRED CERTIFICATE(S):
- BOSIET, H2S awareness, TechnipFMC HSE, and quality programs.
- Additional certifications in project management, Lean Six Sigma (e.g., PMP) are a plus.
- REQUIRED INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
- Strong English language communication and stakeholder management skills; able to build trust with clients and internal teams.
