Job Description

The role of a Field Service Engineer is vital in ensuring the operational efficiency of technical systems, equipment, and machinery for various industrial and commercial clients. This position involves troubleshooting and maintaining an array of hardware and software components, thereby requiring comprehensive technical expertise and problem-solving skills. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for regular on-site visits to client locations to perform installations, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on advanced technological systems. This position demands a high level of independence combined with excellent customer service skills as you will be representing the company to clients. Additionally, you may be required to travel frequently and work in diverse environments, thus adaptability and resilience are crucial traits for success in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Perform regular maintenance checks to ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues on customer sites.
  • Install and configure new systems, ensuring completeness and operational functionality.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all service requests and resolutions provided.
  • Liaise with technical support teams to resolve complex system issues efficiently.
  • Provide training and professional guidance to clients on equipment usage and maintenance.
  • Manage a schedule of service visits, ensuring timely response to urgent client needs.
  • Ensure compliance with industry safety standards during all field operations.
  • Stay updated with new technologies and enhancements relevant to the industry field.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to enhance service delivery.
  • Report on work progress, challenges, and feedback to the management team.
  • Assist in the optimization of engineering processes and service delivery methods.

Requirements

  • Possess a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a field service engineering role.
  • Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams for troubleshooting systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with non-technical clients.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and adapt to diverse work environments.
