FandB Hostess - InterContinental Abu Dhabi

InterContinental Abu Dhabi is looking for a warm, polished, and guest-focused F&B Hostess to join our team at our award-winning all-day dining restaurant. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming atmosphere, managing the guest arrival experience, and ensuring every visit begins with genuine hospitality. A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you will mainly be responsible for:

• Welcome guests warmly and professionally, creating an excellent first impression upon arrival.
• Manage guest seating and table allocation efficiently, ensuring a smooth flow of service throughout breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• Handle restaurant reservations, walk-in requests, and seating preferences in accordance with operational requirements.
• Maintain an accurate overview of table availability and coordinate with the service team to minimise guest waiting times.
• Recognise VIPs, returning guests, and special occasions, ensuring personalised attention wherever possible.
• Respond to guest enquiries regarding menus, buffet offerings, restaurant promotions, and available dining options.
• Coordinate closely with the Restaurant Manager, service team, and kitchen to ensure seamless communication and guest satisfaction.
• Manage waiting lists and communicate estimated waiting times clearly and courteously during busy service periods.
• Assist guests with special requests, dietary enquiries, and seating arrangements, referring specific requirements to the relevant team members.
• Handle guest feedback and concerns professionally, ensuring any issues are communicated promptly to the Restaurant Manager.
• Maintain the cleanliness, organisation, and presentation of the restaurant entrance, hostess desk, and reception area.
• Ensure reservation records, guest preferences, and relevant information are maintained accurately.
• Stay informed about restaurant menus, hotel facilities, promotions, and special events to provide accurate information to guests.
• Support the team in maintaining service standards, restaurant procedures, and the hotels commitment to exceptional hospitality.
• Demonstrate a proactive approach by anticipating guest needs and creating a welcoming, engaging dining atmosphere.

What we need from you:

• Previous experience as an F&B Hostess, Restaurant Hostess, Guest Relations Agent, or in a similar guest-facing role, preferably within a luxury hotel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly, confident, and approachable personality.
• Professional grooming and presentation, with a strong understanding of luxury hospitality standards.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage reservations, seating arrangements, and guest enquiries efficiently.
• A genuine passion for guest service and creating memorable dining experiences.
• Ability to remain calm, organised, and courteous in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Strong teamwork and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively across different departments.
• Proficiency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with restaurant reservation systems are preferred.
• Flexibility to work rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
