facility Engineer

Job Purpose

The Facility Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and safety of all building systems within Salayel Hospitality properties. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and compliance with local authority and hospitality standards to ensure uninterrupted guest comfort and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and BMS)
• Monitor daily operation of facilities and address breakdowns promptly
• Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, BOH, and technical areas
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults and ensure timely repairs
• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers
• Ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi Municipality, Civil Defence, and OSHAD regulations
• Maintain maintenance logs, service reports, and asset records
• Support energy efficiency initiatives and cost control measures
• Respond to emergency maintenance issues and guest complaints professionally
• Ensure adherence to hotel brand standards and safety procedures
  
  

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or relevant field
• 3–5 years’ experience in hotel, serviced apartment, or hospitality facilities maintenance
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs (PPM)
• Familiar with UAE regulations and safety standards
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and on-call duty
• Good communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage)
