Job Description

The Facilities Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a company's physical environment. This position involves overseeing the maintenance, security, and operations of facilities to enhance workspaces for employees and maintain compliance with all regulatory standards. The Facilities Supervisor is tasked with managing a team, organizing maintenance schedules, facilitating improvements, and ensuring that facilities are safe and functional. This role is crucial for creating an environment that allows employees to perform their tasks successfully, by maintaining infrastructure, negotiating with vendors, and managing budgets. An ideal candidate would possess excellent organizational and leadership skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and maintenance activities of facility systems.
  • Manage and supervise facilities maintenance staff and external contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations.
  • Coordinate and schedule regular maintenance and repairs for facilities and equipment.
  • Assess and forecast facility needs and create development plans accordingly.
  • Respond promptly to all emergencies and urgent maintenance requests.
  • Manage and allocate facilities budget to ensure efficient operations.
  • Develop and implement strategies for optimizing facility operations and security.
  • Prepare detailed reports on facility operations, incidents, and improvements.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers for facility resources.
  • Inspect facilities regularly to identify potential hazards and needed repairs.
  • Facilitate communication between different departments and stakeholders regarding facility issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years proven experience in facility management or similar role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the capacity to manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Solid understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems management.
  • Proficiency with facilities management software and budget management tools.
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure in fast-paced environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
