Expert Engineer Enterprise Security Architecture

Job Description

As part of e&'s 2030 strategy vision to become a leading regional TechCo, e& UAE is seeking an experienced Expert Engineer (Enterprise Security Architecture) to lead the design, planning, and architectural governance of security across the group's telecom, ISP, technology, and digital services portfolio. The ideal candidate will have more than 10 years of expertise across enterprise architecture, network and infrastructure protection, application and cloud environments, data privacy, AI, telecom, internet, satellite and interconnection, OTT platforms, virtualization, DevSecOps, containerization, mobile applications, API management, threat modelling, end-to-end solutions, government integration projects, and compliance. The candidate must demonstrate a proven ability to translate business, technology, and strategic initiatives into robust, standards-aligned security designs. This role requires deep, hands-on experience—spanning design, planning, architecture, integration, and strategy—across a broad and evolving technology landscape, including but not limited to the domains listed above.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, planning, and architecture of secure enterprise solutions across ISP layer, Telecom layer, IP Core, 5G Core, Wi-Fi Core, and core business connectivity layers.
• Develop, recommend, plan, design, and implement end to end security controls to protect infrastructure services, in line with industry best practices and internal governance standards.
• Ensure security-by-design across all Etisalat/e& projects, including Enterprise Architecture, Technology, Strategy, Engineering, Telecom, ISP & Core, Infrastructure, Cloud, Private Network, E2E Solutions, and Government Integration initiatives.
• Perform threat modelling to identify, assess, and mitigate security risks across all technology domains and project lifecycles.
• Evaluate business and technical proposals, identify gaps in design and process, and recommend optimal, risk-balanced security solutions.
• Perform security gap analysis across projects, applications, and vendors, and document clear, actionable remediation plans. Telecom, ISP & Network Domain Expertise.
• Provide architectural oversight for International Internet Exchange (IX) and ISP infrastructure.
• Secure IP Core network layers, 5G Core, RAN and IP transport and Wi-Fi Core layers.
• Architect security for OTT platforms, streaming and gaming platforms, and Satellite/VSAT layers.
• Design and assess security controls for APN networks and core business connectivity services.
• Apply security architecture expertise across 5G, 4G, 3G, MPLS, Internet, NFVi, SDN, Data Centres, IoT, AI, IT, and IPTV services.
• Architect and integrate versatile multi-cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, Oracle, and others) with robust, standards-aligned cloud security controls.
• Application Security architecture and design guidance across development and integration lifecycles and end to end solutions.
• Lead AI/ML Security and AI Security architecture, aligned with emerging AI risk management frameworks.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across telecom and IT, ISP services, identifying threats, vulnerabilities, and business impact.
• Author RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs, liaising with vendors and suppliers to ensure technical and security compliance.
• Develop policies, standards, and security guidelines for telecom and IT services, including Mobile, AI, IOT, and Cloud, and emerging technologies.
• Provide expert advisory and support to Digital transformation and modernization and technology adoption projects.
• Prepare clear documentation and presentations related to security architecture and risk management for technical and executive audiences.
• Provide professional guidance, mentorship, and technical support to subordinates and project teams.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with local and international security standards and regulatory requirements, including those specific to UAE Government entities.
  
  

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering specific to IT streams including but not limited to Cyber Security, Telecommunications, Data, AI/ML and equivalent technical streams.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Cybersecurity, preferably within a telecom or large-scale technology environment.
• In-depth knowledge of enterprise security architecture, network and infrastructure security, application security, cloud security, telecom security, ISP and security compliance.
• Strong command of security frameworks and standards.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies and their associated security requirements.
• Technical expertise across core telecom and IT infrastructure networks and services.
• Proven experience developing policies, standards, and guidelines for telecom and IT services.
• Working knowledge of advanced security tools and technologies.
• Strong decision-making capability in security strategy, planning, and architecture.
• Excellent documentation, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Relevant certifications: CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CEH, GRC, CCSP, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, TOGAF; PMP is an advantage
