The Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for BIM and engineering consultancy projects. The role involves reviewing tender and contract documents, understanding project scope, coordinating with technical teams, and preparing detailed financial proposals to support successful bid submissions.
Key Responsibilities
Tender & Estimation
Review and analyze tender documents, RFPs, RFQs, contracts, and scope of services.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for BIM and engineering services, including:
Manpower deployment
BIM modeling, coordination, automation, and support services
Software, licenses, and project overheads
Develop pricing strategies in coordination with management.
Prepare cost breakdowns, fee proposals, and financial schedules as per tender requirements.
Contract & Commercial Review
Interpret commercial and contractual terms and conditions.
Identify commercial risks, assumptions, exclusions, and clarifications.
Ensure Compliance With Contractual, Commercial, And Submission Requirements.
Support negotiations by providing cost and commercial inputs.
Coordination & Support
Coordinate with BIM Managers, Discipline Leads, Finance, and Procurement for technical and cost inputs.
Clarify Scope, Deliverables, Timelines, And Resource Requirements.
Preparing technical-commercial proposals and bid submissions.
Maintain records of submitted tenders, pricing data, and cost benchmarks.
Post-Tender Support
Support clarifications during tender evaluation.
Assist in budget finalization upon award.
Participate in handover meetings from tender to project execution teams.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
5–7 years of experience in estimation/tendering, preferably in a BIM, engineering consultancy, or construction environment.
Experience with BIM-related services estimation is highly preferred.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret contracts and tender documents.
Sound knowledge of cost estimation and financial analysis.
Familiarity with BIM workflows, deliverables, and project lifecycles.
Proficient in Excel, cost estimation tools, and proposal preparation.
Strong Analytical, Numerical, And Attention-to-detail Skills.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)
Knowledge of FIDIC or similar standard contracts.
Experience In Middle East Tenders.
Exposure to BIM automation, coordination, and digital delivery pricing models.
Basic understanding of project budgeting and cost control.
