ROLE PURPOSE

The Security Architect is responsible for designing, governing, and continuously evolving the organization’s security architecture across IT, applications, and data platforms. This role ensures that security is embedded into all technology solutions by defining security principles, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps that enable the business while protecting critical assets, regulatory compliance, and mission-critical operations

Responsibilities

• The Security Architect will lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide security architecture and ensure alignment with business and regulatory requirements
• Design, implement, and govern security architectures for IT systems (On Prem and Cloud), applications, networks, and databases, including secure connectivity, segmentation, and data-protection controls
• Conduct cloud, application, and infrastructure threat modelling, vulnerability analysis, and architecture risk assessments to identify gaps and drive remediation
• Develop and maintain security architecture standards, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps aligned to business strategy and security objectives
• Define and apply information security principles such as defense-in-depth, zero trust, least privilege, and secure-by-design across all platforms and projects
• Architect and guide the deployment of core security technologies including SIEM, IAM, endpoint protection, network security, disaster recovery, and secure communications
• Conduct risk assessments, threat modeling, vulnerability analysis, and architecture reviews to identify security gaps and drive remediation
• Provide security architecture leadership and consulting to IT, engineering, satellite, and application teams throughout the system development lifecycle
• Ensure all solutions meet regulatory, contractual, and compliance requirements such as UAE IA, ISO 270001, KSA CRF, NIST and other applicable standards
• Approve system and solution design documents to ensure security requirements are fully addressed before deployment
• Partner with security programs and delivery teams to plan and drive implementation of security roadmaps and technology capabilities
• Research, evaluate, and pilot emerging security technologies to strengthen resilience and improve protection against evolving threats
• Act as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders on secure system design and risk-based decision making
  
  

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field (master’s preferred)

15+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3–5 years in security architecture, cloud security architecture, or security engineering leadership

Strong experience designing and securing cloud platforms (Azure), on-premises infrastructure, applications, and mission-critical systems

• Deep understanding of cloud security architecture, Zero Trust, identity and access management, network security, encryption, and secure system design
• Experience with cloud security platforms such as CSPM, CASB, key management, and secure connectivity, along with SIEM, endpoint protection, and network security tools
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or similar
• Proven ability to translate security strategy into cloud and enterprise architecture and implementation roadmaps
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills across engineering, cloud, and business teams
• Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM, TOGAF, or cloud security certifications are highly desirable
