Engineering Manager Depot And Maintenance Facilities Railway Infrastructure -UAE

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager – Depot & Maintenance Facilities to lead the engineering and design activities associated with depot and railway maintenance facilities on a major rail infrastructure project.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, manage multidisciplinary design activities and ensure the timely coordination, review and delivery of engineering packages required for project approvals and construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the engineering and design of Depot and Maintenance Facilities.
• Manage design subcontractors and internal engineering activities.
• Lead multidisciplinary design coordination and technical interface management.
• Ensure timely development, coordination, review and submission of design packages.
• Provide technical leadership and timely engineering decisions.
• Identify, manage and close design deficiencies and outstanding technical matters.
• Manage technical comments and coordinate responses to engineering queries.
• Coordinate technical interfaces with consortium partners, the Engineer and other stakeholders.
• Manage responses to design review comments.
• Ensure technical inputs and engineering deliverables required for approvals are submitted on time.
• Protect key Depot programme milestones, including mock-up works and subsequent Depot activities.
• Ensure Depot engineering activities comply with contractual requirements and support the overall project programme.
  
  

Minimum Requirements

• University degree in Construction, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Master’s degree and/or Chartered Engineer status is preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in the management of engineering or construction works of a similar nature.
• Strong experience managing multidisciplinary engineering and design activities.
• Demonstrated experience managing design consultants and/or subcontractors.
• Strong technical interface management capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage engineering deliverables, design reviews and technical approvals.
• Strong stakeholder management and technical leadership skills.
  
  

Preferred Experience

• High-Speed Rail design and implementation experience is preferred.
• Previous experience in railway depot and maintenance facility design or engineering is highly desirable.
• Experience working on major international rail infrastructure programmes is advantageous.
