Job Purpose
Supervise / carryout inspection, testing, analysis, review and repair as planned to control and monitor the corrosion on pipelines, associated piping, structure equipment and Gas compressor station. Review Project
related documents to end user involvement requirement.
Job Specific Accountabilities
Supervise / carryout all on-stream and shutdown inspection activities for stationary equipment, pressure relieving devices, corrosion monitoring and investigation of failures.
- Identify areas of concern and propose dedicated inspection procedures to follow-up their resolution to improve Pipelines Integrity.
- Witness pressure tests on equipment’s /valves etc. after repair and during start-up, including hydrostatic and pneumatic tests, analyse conditions observed during inspection and provide recommendations for
remedial action.
- Carry out implementation of 5 year inspection plans and determine critical equipment and pipelinescondition in addition to type and frequency of tests required.
- Analyse the inspection survey reports and proposes the mitigation plan.
- Conduct corrosion control, monitoring and prevention activities and corrosion investigation.
- Advise on repair techniques, materials selection, welding procedures, inspection and testing
requirements.
- Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) for service work orders related to repair, inspection and services.
Job Specific Accountabilities2
Review, supervise and endorse hot tapping procedures and ensure their compliance with the international and company codes, as well as endorse the welders and welding procedures for hot
tapping.
- Participate in System clearance (Punching), Pre-commissioning and PSSR Audit in new projects hand over.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Internal Audits.
- Modernising of inspection procedures based on latest codes, standards and techniques.
- Analysis of painting failure and review of painting and underground coating systems.
- Supervise and participates in non-destructive testing of piping, Pipeline and equipment, including reviewof preliminary interpretations carried out by subordinates.
- Check condition of safety relief valves, prescribes repairs, as required and witness relief pressure setting, including hot setting where needed.
- Review project FEED proposals and design documents regarding material selection and mechanical
integrity, perform shop and field inspections and review QA/QC documents, method statements etc. during project execution. Follow up with closing of punch list items.
- Prepare inspection activity scope of work, method statements, job plans and relevant inspection test plan (ITP) and procedures.
Job Specific Accountabilities3
Handle the downgraded situation (DGS) and Management of Change (MOC) as and when required.
- Review the integrity assessment reports and follow-up the recommendations.
- Software based RBI (Risk Based Inspection) and PIMS (Pipeline Integrity management system)analysis.
- Review of new NDT techniques in according to latest codes and availability in market. Demonstration to the site suitability.
- Review the digitization and AI technology in NDT techniques.
- Provide inputs to prepare monthly KPI for Company Management.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor Degree in Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering or other equivalent.
Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills
6 years of experience in inspection and corrosion prevention for pipeline, piping, equipment’s within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Sound knowledge of pipelines inspection, corrosion mechanisms, cathodic protection engineering standards & codes
- Sound knowledge on Advanced Non-destructive testing & Destructive testing
- Sound knowledge of Coating/ painting selection and failures of these. Must be able to prepare repair Scope of Work for rehabilitation works.
- Good understanding of all engineering disciplines, risk management, loss prevention techniques
- Working knowledge of design, manufacture, metallurgy, welding, standards and legislation associated
with the inspection of pipelines and plant equipment and be familiar with QA/QC systems and procedures
- Technical ability in understanding codes, standards and inspection methods
- Knowledge of HSE procedures & practices
- Planning and Organising, Scheduling and Co-ordinating, Checking, Examining and Recording
- Knowledge in API 510, API 570 and API 653 in-service inspection
Professional Certifications
ASNT- SNT-TC-1A, NDT level II in RT, UT, PT and MT or equivalent
