Summary
Lead the department, be accountable for on time, On Budget, and On Quality of Engineering Deliverables. Set the department Goals and Objectives in line with Organizational Goals and Objectives. Set the department KPI’S and follow the same. Guide and lead a team of Engineers & Designers for proposal support, FEED & Detailed Engineering. Provide technical leadership and guidance for all projects/ proposals. Provide support for estimation, costing, planning & technical proposal.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Overall management of the discipline engineering design works for the assigned project/proposal and inter disciplines coordination.
- Guide and Manage a Team of Engineers & Designers for proposal support, FEED & Detailed Engineering.
- Provide man-power planning & decide job allocation for the assigned team for the project.
- Facilitate inputs to the project execution & quality Plan by providing type, quantities, titles and expected issue dates of engineering documents
- Review Design and detailing of structural Skids/other modular structures, pipe-racks, Off-Skid Platforms/ Secondary Structures, Pipe Supports, Cross-overs, Cable tray Supports, Shelters, Steel Buildings etc. including Lifting, Road Transport, Sea Transport analysis.
- Review Design and detailing of civil design including foundation design for vertical and horizontal vessels, Flare, Pipe racks, Skids, Platforms, Pits, dynamic equipment like pumps, compressors etc.
- Review civil/ structural drawings including reinforcement detail drawings for concrete structures ; bar bending schedules; foundation plot plan; miscellaneous civil drawings for Roads/ Fences/ Gates/ drainage layouts, Underground facilities etc.
- Implement KPI targets during the course of the project.
- Implement Engineering Co- ordinate Inter Discipline checking procedure and manage technical information flow between all inter disciplines/departments/Client/Vendors
- Control designs input and evoke Engineering Document Change Procedure for scope changes if any.
- Provide forecast & spent man-hour details for project/proposal
- Provide project progress updates
- Ensure quality of all engineering documents of the project through IDC procedure
- Review & monitor engineering subcontractors work. Co-ordinate and control 3rd party engineering consultants and review their engineering deliverables
- Guide engineers on design criteria and technical information.
- Ensure company corporate policies, Goals and objectives are communicated and followed by Department Staff.
- Drawing plans for Employee Training & Development and Act as Mentor for personnel in C& S Discipline.
- Review the Design Basis and compliance of the contractual requirement, specifications and engineering calculations
- Review and understanding the geotechnical reports and provide inputs for site grading drawings.
- Ensure On time/ On Budget metrics compliance & Ensure no increase in Civil& Structural MTO during detailed engineering without a change order.
- Ensure timely acquisition, review and approval of Vendor deliverables and Inter-discipline co-ordination.
- Ensure On time/ On Budget metrics compliance and evoke Engineering Document Change Procedure for scope changes if any
- Implement Engineering Co- ordinate Inter Discipline checking procedure and manage technical information flow between all inter disciplines/departments/Client/Vendors
- Keep tracking the Manhours and maintain the KPI
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering in Civil / Architectural.
- Associates Degree or Technical School Training in ME, EE, Computer Aided Design Technology or related field
- 7-10 Years of Civil & Structural work, design and detailing in accordance with International standards
- Conversant with International standards/Codes: American/ British/ Euro Standards.
- Proficient in using STAA/Pro, STAAD Foundation and other design software
- Good working in 3D model reviewing in Naviswork/ CadWorx.
- Overall management of the discipline engineering design works for the assigned project/proposal and inter disciplines coordination.
