JOB PURPOSE:
Plans, coordinates and supports all technical and operational aspects of daily completion & workover related activities, including design and preparation of each well completion and/or workover program in accordance with local authority regulations, company policies & HSEQ standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Job Specific Accountabilities
Prepares Completion and/or Workover Programs. Works closely with other groups to assure the programs are based on all available information from nearby wells. The Completion or Workover Program must include, but is not limited to the following:
- o Application of standard operations procedures, best practices and lessons learned,
- o Pre-Completion program (well killing, tubing pulling, fishing/milling packers, plug setting/recovering , record cased hole logs, etc. ) for Workover,
- o Christmas tree, tubing and downhole completion equipment and schematics to meet expected conditions and well integrity,
- o Coiled Tubing program, if planned by the rig, o Stimulation program, if planned by the rig,
- o Completions fluids program,
- o Well testing and evaluation program, if planned by the rig,
- o Wellbore Clean Out program,
- o Perforating program,
- o Completion running procedure including packer setting procedure(s),
- o Tubing Stress Analysis,
- o Torque & Drag Analysis,
- o Contingency programs (as required).
Ensures that Company HSE policies, procedures, regulations and objectives are effectively implemented.
Prepares cost estimates and AFE's for completions and workovers.
Progress time and cost charts for the Completion or Workover phase.
Review and approve Daily Drilling Reports (DDR),
Participates as completion and workover representative in the Well delivery process (WDP).
Interacts with asset teams during well planning, execution and post-completion/workover review.
Provides rig site technical assistance to Drilling Supervisors and 3rd Party Offshore Completion Engineers during operations.
Trouble shoots operational and technical completion and workover problems.
Follow-up make-up/testing of completion sub-assemblies in coordination with all concerned parties.
Conducts equipment technical evaluation after getting technical submission from vender in order to select the correct equipment for different applications.
Provides annual completion equipment and materials technical specifications / quantity requirements as requested.
Maintains close liaison with services companies' engineers, and keep abreast of recent developments in the area of well completion technology, equipment, practices, etc.
Conducts studies on adaptability of such technology to ADNOC Offshore operations and makes appropriate recommendations.
Implement new ideas and technology and provide expertise in the function area to achieve required performance standards.
Analyses completion or workover performance and recommends changes in procedures and equipment based on findings.
Participates in industry organizations such as SPE, API and/or IADC.
Request equipment and service order (if necessary) for the non-contracted equipment.
Participate in scope of work preparation for the new contracts (completion services, fishing, well testing, well bore clean out, etc.).
Participate in end of well review and prepare presentation to show job sequence, NPT & lessons learned.
Ensures all reporting is completed in a timely manner (including After Action Reviews (AAR), Lessons Learned review, Well Quality KPIs, Well Completion Reports).
Ensures all documents relating all drilling activities are properly filed in well file, stored and available.
Generic Accountabilities Supervision
Plan and coordinate all completion & workover activities for the assigned Rigs to meet functional objectives.
Train and develop the assigned Trainees / new staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives
Budgets
Provide input for preparation of the functional budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Drilling Division objectives.
Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
Ascertains that all programs are in accordance with local authority regulations, company policies and HSEQ standards.
Performance Management
Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Drilling Division in line with the Company Performance framework.
Benchmark completion & workover performance, reviews KPIs, identify limiters and provides engineered solutions to improve drilling efficiency.
Determines technical parameters of 3rd party equipment & service providers are in accordance with the contract. Participates in Quality and pre-acceptance related audits and inspections as required by the Drilling Division.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Maintains close liaison with services companies’ engineers, and keeps abreast of recent developments in the area of completion & workover technology, equipment, practices, etc.
Identify, evaluates and implements all new techniques and methodologies to improve the quality and efficiency of completion & workover processes.
Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best Industry standards.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
Ensures risk management processes are used in the well planning and execution. Participates as requested in HAZOPS, SIMOPS and Risk Assessments.
Reports
Prepare Daily Progress report (Time & Cost), KPIs reports, Well Quality KPI report, AAR & Well completion reports.
Reviews Daily Drilling Report, QC data and ensure correct data input in the database
Reviews NPT, ILT and performance reports
Provide Pre-Drilling & Completion phase inputs to DBC, Budget and Cost reports.
COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal
Frequent contacts with other division at equivalent level to discuss and optimize performance.
Regular contacts with Services & Material Engineers, Tool Services, Supply & Logistic teams to ensure operation requirement is delivered on time.
Regular contacts with Team Leaders regarding approval process and solving issues.
Regular visits to offshore rig (At least once per well). Witness critical jobs on site.
External
Communicate with other teams (well integrity, well services, reservoir, etc.), on a regular basis to ensure provision of completion and workover programs and cost estimates.
Regular contacts with service companies operations engineer for technical data and planning input.
Regular contacts with Other OPCOs at equivalent level to share lesson learned & best practices.
Regular participation in industry organizations such as SPE, API, IADC, ADIPEC etc
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor Degree in an Engineering Discipline, ideally Petroleum or Mechanical.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
5 - 6 years of experience and knowledge, including at least 3 years’ experience in completion / workover operations plus 2 years of which should be in oil & gas operations.
Very good knowledge of English.
Excellent computing skills including MS Office.
Knowledge of Landmark EDM software (OpenWells, Compass, Well Plan, WellCat)
