Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated ELV/FIRE ALARM Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electronic low voltage (ELV) and fire alarm systems in commercial and residential settings. You will work closely with other team members to ensure systems are installed correctly and comply with safety regulations. A keen eye for detail, technical expertise, and a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction are essential for success in this role. This position requires both independent work and collaboration with a team to complete projects efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities

  • Install, test, and maintain ELV and fire alarm systems according to guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing fire alarm systems promptly.
  • Perform regular inspections and maintenance of ELV equipment and associated systems.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national fire safety and electrical codes.
  • Collaborate with project managers to assess worksite requirements and resources.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients and team members as needed.
  • Document all maintenance and installation activities accurately for future reference.
  • Identify opportunities for system upgrades and improvements to enhance safety.
  • Maintain tools and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies and techniques for fire safety equipment.
  • Respond to emergency service requests and incidents in a timely manner.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians in best practices and company standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
  • Proven experience as an ELV or fire alarm technician or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and fire safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail a must.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with clients.
  • Physically fit and able to work on ladders, rooftops, and tight spaces.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
