Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures effectively.
• Ensure all electrical installations meet national and local regulations and standards.
• Inspect transformers and circuit breakers to identify faults and potential issues.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications accurately.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using appropriate testing devices.
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
• Collaborate with a team of electricians and other trades to complete projects.
• Provide solutions to electrical problems by investigating alternative methods.
• Maintain electrical tools and equipment in clean, safe working order.
• Document actions, testing results, and resolutions and file reports as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an electrician apprenticeship preferred.
• Proven experience as an electrician in electrical systems and components.
• Valid electrician license and certification to perform electrical installations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards and procedures.
• Good physical condition and strength with the ability to work in confined spaces.
