Our client is a leading construction company in the UAE, specializing in large-scale building and MEP projects.

Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supervising all electrical systems and installations across construction and MEP projects. The role involves ensuring that all electrical works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, client requirements, and UAE regulatory standards (DEWA, ADDC). The ideal candidate will coordinate between design, site, and project teams to ensure safe and efficient execution of electrical works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and plan electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, and low-current systems, in compliance with local and international codes.
  • Review and prepare technical drawings, shop drawings, and as-built plans to ensure accuracy and constructability.
  • Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical works on-site, adhering to design, safety, and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with TAQA standards, local authority regulations, and client specifications; submit required documentation for approvals.
  • Conduct load calculations, cable sizing, and circuit design to optimize system functionality and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, mechanical engineers, and subcontractors to resolve design and installation conflicts.
  • Inspect materials and equipment deliveries for compliance with specifications and approved submittals.
  • Prepare technical submittals, method statements, and inspection requests (IRs) for consultant and client approvals.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedules.
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure adherence to company HSE policies and electrical safety practices.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation and reports, including test reports, progress updates, and material tracking logs.
  • Assist in cost estimation and BOQ preparation, review supplier quotations, and identify cost-effective technical solutions.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting during execution and post-installation phases.
  • Attend site meetings and coordination sessions with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve technical and operational issues.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Experience: 3–4 years in construction or MEP projects, preferably within the UAE or GCC region.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of electrical design principles, load calculations, and protective device coordination.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Dialux, and other electrical design software.
  • Knowledge of DEWA, ADDC, and other authority regulations and submission procedures.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and lead on-site teams.
  • Quality & Safety Awareness: Knowledge of ISO standards, HSE practices, and electrical safety protocols.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal skills to liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Driving License: Valid UAE driving license is mandatory.
  • Personal Attributes: Organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently under minimal supervision.
