The role is responsible for establishing and leading an enterprise-wide intelligence, planning, and performance management capability for Global Markets, partnering closely with senior management to drive informed strategic decisions.
The role acts as a strategic partner to the Global Markets Management, providing data-driven insights, forward-looking analysis, and disciplined planning frameworks to support revenue growth, balance sheet optimisation, capital efficiency, and strategic decision-making across Trading, Sales and Regions.
The role owns the end-to-end management information, forecasting, strategic planning, performance analytics, executive reporting, ensuring alignment with Group objectives and regulatory expectations.
Key Accountabilities
Business Intelligence & Insights
Establish and lead a best‑ in‑ class Global Markets business intelligence function, delivering timely, accurate, and actionable insights to senior management
Own the Global Markets management information (MI) framework, ensuring consistent and robust performance measurement across revenues, balance sheet usage, capital, liquidity, and risk‑ adjusted returns
Deliver deep analytical insight into client profitability, product performance, cross‑ sell effectiveness, and regional trends to drive commercial outcomes
Translate complex data into clear executive‑ level insights, narratives, and recommendations to support strategic and tactical decision‑ making
Strategic Planning & Forecasting
Lead the Global Markets strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting process, in close coordination with Group Finance and Group Strategy
Develop multi-year business plans aligned with FAB’s strategic objectives, market outlook, and regulatory constraints
Ensure planning assumptions are robust, transparent, and well-governed with clear accountability and alignment across Trading, Sales, and Regions
Performance Management
Define and oversee GM performance management frameworks, including KPIs, scorecards, and management dashboards
Monitor performance against plan, identify variances, and proactively highlight risks and opportunities to senior leadership
Support GM leadership in setting targets, evaluating performance outcomes, and driving accountability across the franchise
Partner with product and regional heads to embed performance discipline and fact-based decision-making
Executive & Senior Management Engagement
Act as a trusted advisor to the Global Markets leadership team, providing independent, data-led perspectives.
Prepare and contribute to presentatrion materials for GM senior management, Group ExCo, and Board-level forums as required
Ensure consistency and integrity of Global Markets reporting across internal and external stakeholders
Data, Governance & Transformation
Partner with Technology and Data teams to enhance GM data infrastructure, analytics platforms, and automation capabilities
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Qualification:
Minimum Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Postgraduate degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred but not mandatory
Minimum Experience
15+ years of experience in financial services, with significant exposure to Global Markets, investment banking, or capital markets.
Proven experience in senior leadership roles covering business intelligence, business management, planning, finance, strategy, or analytics within a complex financial institution.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Proven track record in developing and executing transformation strategies, delivering operational efficiencies, and achieving measurable results.
Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership and people management abilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
