As an Echocardiographer/Echo Technician, you will play a pivotal role in cardiovascular diagnostics by using advanced ultrasound technology to create detailed images of the heart and its chambers, valves, and vessels. This position requires a keen attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work closely with cardiologists and other medical professionals to ensure the delivery of precise diagnostic information. You will be responsible for explaining procedures to patients, preparing them for echocardiograms, and conducting the actual imaging processes in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities

  • Conduct echocardiograms and other related imaging studies on patients with cardiac conditions.
  • Prepare patients for echocardiographic examinations by explaining procedures and positioning them appropriately.
  • Utilize advanced ultrasound and echo technology to capture clear and precise heart images.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists to interpret and analyze echocardiographic results accurately.
  • Maintain detailed records of procedures and update patient files with technical findings.
  • Ensure all imaging equipment is functioning properly and schedule regular maintenance checks.
  • Manage patient appointments and coordinate with other healthcare professionals regarding treatment plans.
  • Assist in the development of departmental policies and procedures to enhance service delivery.
  • Provide high-quality patient care, ensuring safety and comfort during echocardiographic procedures.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in echocardiography and integrate them into practice.
  • Train and supervise junior staff or technicians as necessary, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and safety standards, including patient confidentiality and consent processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Sonography or a related field is required.
  • Certified by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an Echocardiographer/Echo Technician.
  • Proficient in operating and maintaining ultrasound and echocardiographic equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for accurate image interpretation.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality and safety.
