Senior Expert – Energy Components Upstream

Overview

The Senior Energy Components (EC) Upstream Expert is a critical role within the Professional Services team, responsible for delivering high-impact software implementations for energy companies across the Middle East and globally.

This role focuses on planning, designing, deploying, and optimizing technical solutions using Quorum’s Energy Components platform. The Senior Expert will lead complex implementations, drive architectural decisions, and ensure alignment with client business processes, particularly within upstream operations.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Energy Components, strong technical capabilities, and extensive knowledge of upstream oil & gas workflows, including gas scheduling, dispatching, sales, and revenue accounting.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead teams of up to 15 consultants to deliver enterprise-scale implementations, upgrades, and enhancements of Quorum solutions
  • Drive end-to-end solution architecture including design, development, configuration, integration, testing, and deployment
  • Provide technical leadership across key technologies including PL/SQL, RESTful APIs, AWS/Cloud DevOps pipelines, and Java-based systems
  • Manage multiple concurrent client engagements across complex environments, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
  • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level consultants, fostering technical excellence and ownership

Client Engagement & Solution Architecture

  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, particularly within Middle East upstream operations
  • Understand and map client workflows, aligning them with industry best practices and Quorum capabilities
  • Lead discussions with both technical teams and senior stakeholders within client organizations
  • Design scalable and efficient solutions tailored to regional operational and regulatory requirements

Quality, Standards & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure all deliverables align with industry standards, best practices, and client expectations
  • Collaborate with Product Management to align client needs with product roadmap and delivery timelines
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies relevant to the region
  • Share knowledge and lessons learned across the broader Quorum organization

Pre-Sales & Solution Support (as needed)

  • Support technical sales cycles by participating in client meetings and solution discussions
  • Contribute to RFP responses and help articulate value propositions
  • Deliver high-quality, tailored product demonstrations to prospective clients

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related analytical discipline
  • Mandatory: Hands-on experience with Quorum Energy Components (EC)
  • 5+ years of experience in full-scale EC implementations, preferably within upstream oil & gas environments
  • Proven experience delivering solutions within the Middle East energy sector or similar large-scale, complex environments
  • Strong understanding of upstream and downstream oil & gas processes, particularly gas scheduling, dispatch, sales, and revenue
  • Experience in gathering business and technical requirements and translating them into scalable solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead medium to large teams (8+ members) and manage end-to-end project delivery
  • Strong technical skills including SQL (advanced), Java (or similar), and system architecture understanding
  • Experience with data migration, system integration, and large-scale enterprise applications
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and modern deployment practices
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior leadership
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Preferred Skills

  • Deep expertise across the Quorum software suite, especially Energy Components
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions (AWS or similar), SaaS delivery models, and DevOps practices
  • Strong programming background (SQL, Java, C#, or similar) and understanding of enterprise architectures
  • Experience managing or contributing to software development initiatives
  • Prior experience working with national oil companies or large regional operators
