The Duty Manager (DM) reports to Senior Manager Maintenance Control Center (SM MCC) and is in charge of the daily operation regarding Technical. The DM is responsible to ensure that all efforts are undertaken by his team to deliver a high standard of dispatch reliability, according to laid down processes and procedures. The DM has the right and duty to escalate any defect and its rectification if such might affect the daily operations. He can request support from the MRO, Vendors, Aircraft manufacturer and engine manufacturer as deemed necessary.
In case an aircraft becomes AOG he will escalate and call in an event management meeting to get all fully focused on the rectification plan and most efficient course of action.
Accountabilities
Guides and supports the line maintenance staff in the daily operation to assure that the most efficient course of action is taken to provide a serviceable fleet, on time.
Coordinates the daily operation with regards to technical issues and OTP and set priorities in close cooperation with NOC. Reviews the work package and challenges Line maintenance regarding Non Routines (NRs).
Organizes, controls and coordinates staff within the MCC. Ensures an effective and consistent approach is being adopted to setting, promoting and delivering the high standards of discipline needed within the workplace.
Ensures that maintenance is allocated and carried out to the required standards of quality, and that the correct technical approach is adopted to ensure that aircraft are returned to service within the agreed flying programme.
Liaises with AUH Line and Outstations to ensure that scheduled and unscheduled maintenance is carried out in the most timely and cost effective manner.
Authorizes overtime, to ensure it is kept to its lowest practicable level whilst ensuring that maintenance is carried out in the most cost-effective manner.
Works closely with the NOC Duty Manager to safeguard the Etihad operation.
Constantly reviews working practices to ensure the best use of all resources is maintained. Ensures compliance with health and safety requirements.
Ensures the shift handover book is completed at the end of each shift duty.
Reviews all reports to distribution (Daily Fleet Summary Report, event reports, etc.)
Liaises between NOC / AUH Line and EYEng to ensure a seamless operation that serves our Guests in a safe and professional manner.
Ensures that NRs issued by MCC are of a high professional standard. Implements SMS systems and processes and ensure formal Risk Assessments are carried out for operationally significant changes.
Ensures a safe and secure working environment for Etihad employees. Promotes quality of work, safety and security awareness.
Qualifications
The Duty Manager MCC should have at least 2 years of working experience as a Maintenance controller, FSE or similar role within a Maintenance Control Centre environment.
He or she must have at least 5 years of certifying experience within Etihad Airways or another commercial carrier with similar fleet types.
ICAO Type II License or equivalent, Etihad QA CRS approval is optional.
Mandatory training courses in accordance with TPM 3.219 Fleet Engineering – Personnel Training requirements.
