A Draftsman specializing in Fitout and Joinery is needed to join our dynamic team of professionals in the construction and design industry. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in drafting and design with a particular focus on fitout and joinery elements. You should possess a keen eye for detail, strong ability to interpret architectural drawings, and proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software. This position requires a dedicated individual who can work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure designs are accurately prepared and executed. With your expertise, you will be instrumental in the creation and transition of design concepts into practical fitout solutions that meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings and layouts for fitout and joinery projects using CAD software.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to gather necessary information for design development.
• Review and modify designs to ensure compliance with production capabilities, materials, and industry standards.
• Prepare documentation and technical drawings for construction permits and project approvals.
• Assist project teams in developing efficient assembly and installation processes for joinery components.
• Conduct site visits to understand spatial constraints and verify design feasibility on location.
• Communicate with suppliers and manufacturers to ascertain material specifications and acquire necessary resources.
• Incorporate feedback and revisions from clients or project leaders into the final design outputs.
• Provide assistance and guidance to junior draftspersons in completing various design tasks as required.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of latest trends and technologies in fitout and joinery design.
• Ensure all design work is completed within project timelines and budgets while retaining high quality standards.
• Coordinate with project teams to accurately document changes and update construction drawings as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Design, or a related field required.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in drafting within the fitout and joinery sector.
• Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other relevant design software.
• Strong understanding of joinery construction techniques and materials including wood and metalwork.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents precisely.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail for creating accurate designs.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in team settings.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines and specifications.
