Synopsis
Lead the governance, enhancement, and delivery of Flight Operations documentation and Centralised Document Management System (CDMS) platforms across the Operations division. Manage accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across all controlled manuals and process documentation. Serve as the subject matter expert for Comply365s DocuNet, NAVBLUE Mission+, and Boeing FrameMaker/IXP systems. Provide technical leadership to Technical Writer Officers, fostering expertise, professional growth, and operational excellence within the Operations Documentation team. Liaise with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure seamless cross-functional collaboration.
Accountabilities
- Oversee the delivery, maintenance, and continuous improvement of CDMS platforms (Comply365s DocuNet, NAVBLUE Mission+, Boeing FrameMaker/IXP), including driving new system implementations and leading adoption across operational departments.
- Lead and manage all CDMS engagements, both internally and externally, including staff training, vendor coordination for system upgrades, issue resolution, UAT, and SLA management.
- Safeguard the quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance (GCAA CAR-AIR OPS, IOSA ISARPs, ATA iSpec 2200, S1000D) of all Operations manuals and controlled documentation.
- Lead revision cycles, approvals, and version control for company operations manuals, process documentation, and OEM manuals (Airbus via Mission+, Boeing via FrameMaker/IXP).
- Lead the establishment and standardisation of documentation style guides and writing conventions across the Operations division ( Flight Operations Engineering, Technical Pilots, Quality Assurance, Safety, and Compliance, Cabin Crew, Technical Operations, Ground Operations, etc.) driving adoption through training and guidance to ensure consistency in all DMS-authored content.
- Drive expertise, professional growth, and succession planning within the documentation team through coaching and knowledge transfer.
- Manage documentation evidence for internal and external audits (GCAA, IOSA); maintain audit trails and compliance records.
- Own and deliver dashboards and KPI reports for publication cycle times, read-and-sign compliance, and system performance to support informed decision-making.
- Lead any additional duties, tasks, or projects as assigned by the Manager Operations Documentation to support departmental objectives and operational requirements.
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Science, Aviation, Engineering, Technical Communication, IT, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum 5 years progressive experience in aviation technical writing, documentation management, or flight operations support.
- Proven hands-on administration of aviation CDMS (Comply365s DocuNet) and OEM authoring tools (NAVBLUE Mission+, Adobe FrameMaker/IXP).
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation of document management system projects.
- Experience supporting audit preparation and working with regulatory requirements.
- Prior mentoring or leadership experience in aviation documentation teams preferred.
