Job Description

The Distribution Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the distribution operations, ensuring that products are delivered efficiently and on time. This position is responsible for managing the distribution team, coordinating with other departments, and optimizing logistic processes to achieve cost-effective and timely delivery of goods. The Distribution Manager must develop strategies to improve warehouse operations, align with business objectives, and meet customer service requirements. Emphasis is placed on maintaining the highest safety standards and adhering to regulatory compliance within the logistics domain. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and strong leadership skills to motivate and guide a team toward excellence in distribution tasks.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily distribution operations to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Develop and implement policies that improve logistics and supply chain processes.
  • Manage and train staff to ensure high performance and efficient workflow.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to optimize supply chain activities.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment efforts as needed.
  • Create and manage budgets for the distribution department, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Establish and uphold safety standards to comply with legal regulations.
  • Develop metrics and standards to evaluate the efficiency of distribution systems.
  • Ensure quality control processes are maintained across all distribution activities.
  • Liaise with other departments to align distribution processes with company objectives.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with policies and standards.
  • Prepare reports for upper management regarding distribution performance and strategy suggestions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in distribution or logistics management.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics software and systems for optimal efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for vendor and supplier interactions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve distribution issues promptly.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards is essential.
