Lead the strategic integration of financial and non-financial asset management functions across AD Ports Group, ensuring full alignment with fixed asset, inventory, and reliability management standards. Oversees Group wide Financial Alignment, Inventory & Spares Optimization, and Asset Reliability & Performance Management, ensuring that asset and inventory data is accurate, compliant, and aligned with corporate financial targets and global best practices. By strengthening governance, enhancing lifecycle visibility, and driving data driven decision making, the Director ensures that AD Ports Group’s global asset portfolios deliver maximum return on assets, improved operational efficiency, and long-term value creation.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities:
Lead the alignment of financial and non‑financial asset management functions in accordance with ISO 55001, ISO 55010, and global fixed‑asset standards, strengthening internal controls and ensuring integrated asset decision‑making.
Provide strategic direction for asset investment planning and prioritization, balancing value creation, risk, lifecycle cost, and resource constraints across short‑ and long‑term horizons.
Oversee the functions of Asset Reliability & Performance Management, Inventory & Spares Optimization, and Asset Financial Alignment, ensuring cohesive and high-performing operations.
Ensure group-wide lifecycle management of assets is safe, efficient, optimized, and sustainable, supporting reduced total cost of ownership and improved utilization, performance, and return on investment.
Lead the development and implementation of lifecycle management procedures for financial and non‑financial assets, ensuring accurate tracking from acquisition to disposal.
Oversee the global asset reconciliation process between MAXIMO and Oracle Fusion Fixed Asset Register, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with financial reporting standards.
Provide expert guidance on identifying and quantifying asset impairments, reviewing financial asset data, and reporting findings to the VP – Group Asset Management.
Ensure timely reporting of all changes affecting asset information relevant to finance, accounting, auditing, regulation, and insurance functions.
Lead Group‑wide asset verification and tagging initiatives, ensuring accurate tracking of asset location, condition, and utilization across all clusters and subsidiaries.
Conduct and oversee periodic audits of asset portfolios to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal governance requirements.
Ensure annual physical verification of inventory and fixed assets is completed accurately and on schedule.
Oversee the preparation of monthly asset performance, inventory movement, and financial alignment reports, ensuring data integrity and alignment with corporate performance objectives.
Review asset financial, insurance, and return‑on‑asset data, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Ensure asset attributes, status, and location data are consistently updated and validated within enterprise systems.
Drive continuous improvement of asset management maturity across AD Ports Group, ensuring alignment with IAM and SMRP best practices.
Support the development of integrated, efficient asset investment plans and prioritization strategies that enhance long‑term organizational performance.
Promote a culture of data‑driven decision‑making, reliability‑focused asset management, and financial discipline across all asset‑related functions.
People Management Responsibilities:
Provide leadership culture within the team by mentoring emerging leaders, encouraging professional growth and development through targeted training programs and performance feedback.
Enhance team collaboration by organizing regular teambuilding activities that promote a cohesive work environment. Facilitate open communication channels to ensure that all team members are engaged and contribute effectively.
Assist in planning the training required for the staff.
Strategic Responsibilities:
Assist in the formulation of long-term strategic plans that align with the overall vision and mission of AD Ports Group.
Collaborate in the development and revision of policies that govern asset finance operations, ensuring they are robust and align with regulatory requirements and best industry practices.
Maintain active engagement with key stakeholders to ensure strategic objectives are understood and supported across the organization. Utilize stakeholder feedback to refine strategies and operations.
Champion sustainability initiatives within the asset finance department, aiming to incorporate ecofriendly practices into asset management and align with Abu Dhabi Ports Group’s sustainability goals.
Coordinate with operational teams to continue the development of corporate best practices for economic evaluations.
Understand the current and future priorities of the targeted customer segment.
Ensure that the AD Ports Group HSE, Sustainability, Business Continuity & Security Regulations & Compliance requirements are adhered to
Qualifications
Educational and Technical Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
ISO 55000 Lead Auditor (Preferred)
EFQM Certified Assessor
IAM Certificate or Diploma (Preferred)
Language Skills:
Excellent English. Arabic is an added advantage
Years of Experience:
A minimum of 15+ Years of Experience in a similar role
Nature of Experience:
Experience in managing assets & Project management.
In-depth knowledge of Asset Management regulations and industry standards
Ability to understand strategic issues and hold an overall perspective of the organization.
Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of developing high-performance teams.
Should have an excellent technical aptitude as well as superior project and people management skills.
