Digital Innovation Officer

Synopsis



The Digital Innovation Officer at Etihad Airways acts as a pivotal resource for the leadership team in driving the adoption and implementation of automation technologies across the organisation. This role is responsible for the design, development, and management of efficient automation solutions using business intelligence tools and platforms to meet business requirements and increase efficiency, while ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations.

Accountabilities

• Directly engage with external suppliers and service providers to ensure that all automation and data management systems, including Power BI, Power Automate, and SQL databases, meet the organizations requirements for compliance, functionality, and data integrity.
• Design and implement specialised data analysis tools that enable accurate and efficient access to operational data.
• Authorised to access and use confidential and sensitive information for digital transformation, provided all approvals are granted as per established company procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Develop and deploy automation solutions using available solutions using business intelligence tools and platforms (e.g. Microsoft Power Platform, SQL, and Logic Apps).
• Maintain and update automation systems to ensure they function optimally and align with business needs. Identify and evaluate existing manual processes suitable for automation.
• Design and implement automation strategies to increase efficiency and accuracy in business operations.
• Ensure all automated systems and processes comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Prepare documentation and maintain records for audits and regulatory reviews, as applicable.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and align automation initiatives with departmental and organisational goals.
• Recommend and implement improvements and innovations in automation technologies to enhance business operations.
  
  

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or higher; a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience preferably in an airline within the areas of Flight Operations.
• Fluent in English, written and verbal.
• Strong understanding of aviation regulations and safety standards, with a preference for knowledge specific to flight crew and cabin crew operations.
• Familiarity with airline industry workflows, particularly in Flight Operations, is highly desirable.
• Experience in implementing and managing automation projects, with a proven track record of enhancing operational efficiencies and supporting business transformation initiatives.
• Ability to perform detailed data analysis and translate findings into actionable insights; proficiency in SQL or logic-based systems for complex problem solving.
• Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of documentation, including compliance records and automation system configurations.
• Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
