PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare a variety of traditional Indian sweets such as Gulab Jamun, Jalebi, Barfi, Ladoo, and Kheer, ensuring authenticity and quality.
  • Experiment with new recipes and techniques to innovate and enhance the dessert menu.
  • Source and select high-quality ingredients, ensuring freshness and authenticity in preparation.
  • Maintain inventory of ingredients specific to Indian sweets and order supplies as needed.
  • Ensure that all desserts are prepared according to established recipes and standards for taste, presentation, and portion size.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on finished products and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Work closely with other kitchen staff, including chefs and pastry teams, to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff on the preparation of Indian sweets.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Follow proper handling and storage procedures for all ingredients.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and update the dessert menu, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer feedback.
  • Participate in special events and promotions that highlight Indian sweets.
  • Engage with guests to understand their preferences and provide recommendations on Indian desserts.
  • Gather feedback to continuously improve the dessert offerings.

Report Line & Communication

  • To assist the Chef de Partie in ensuring that all culinary standards in that section comply with Hotel Policies and Procedures and Minimum Standards.
  • To maintain good working relationships with colleagues and all other departments.

Others

  • Continuous learning through own IDP.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the superior.

  • Ensure confidentiality and secure storage of all intellectual property and data bases, both hard copy and electronic. Adhere to Dust Internet and E-mail policy. Ensure Hotel, Customer and Staff information or transactions are kept confidential during or after employment with the company.

Job Requirement

  • At least 2 years of Demi Chef de Partie or Commis I experiences in a 5 star hotel
  • Have a strong working knowledge of western and other Asian Cuisine
  • Strong understanding of HACCP, displays a high level of food and personal hygiene
  • Demonstrates real passion for menu planning and leadership
