Job Description
The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data processing systems and infrastructure. They collaborate with data analysts and scientists to understand data requirements and develop scalable solutions. The Data Engineer also ensures data quality, integrity, and accessibility across the organization's data ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop data pipelines to ingest, transform, and store large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
- Implement scalable and efficient data processing systems and frameworks.
- Collaborate with data analysts and scientists to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Ensure data quality and integrity by setting up data validation and cleansing processes.
- Optimize data storage, access, and retrieval for efficient data handling and analytics.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data processing systems to ensure reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data from various sources.
- Implement and maintain data security and privacy measures.
- Stay updated with the latest developments and advancements in data engineering technologies.
- Document data processing workflows, systems, and configurations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in data engineering, data processing, or a similar role.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, SQL, or Java.
- Experience with big data technologies and frameworks, such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
- Knowledge of database systems and data modeling concepts.
- Familiarity with data governance, security, and privacy principles.
